Hi all,
I am experiencing a problem of getting into my blogs to update with new postings. I think it is due to some technical issue which many other bloggers are also facing, perhaps due to specific web browsers? I normally use a standard laptop where most of my pics are and update on Googlechrome.
I am able to update briefly now because I am using an IPad and am on Safari browser.
In the event that I am unable to further update on this blog, I will just create a new blog with a similar sounding name 'Defining A Zinnfiguren Collection The Next Chapter'.
So see you all soon.
My aim in setting up this blog is in exploring flats (zinnfiguren) as an art form. Once thought of as playthings, flats have evolved into very artistic pieces, created for and treasured by collectors. I prefer to explore flats in a contextual setting by putting them into shadow-box dioramas of artistic merit which can be reasonably contained within a manageable space. The chronology of this web blog will hopefully blaze a definite trail in this direction.

The Sacre 2
I continue to sift through the many sets awaiting completion. These are some of the remaining figures to be painted. For the Sacre, I am painting two sets in parallel.

Starting to work more on this piece. Glorious Empires have a painted example on their website which clarifies some details on this piece.

Getting back into the zinn of things 2
I started to doodle on some of the figures, just to get back into the swing of painting these zinnfiguren.
Mostly dark browns and washes added.
I added some shadows and highlights to the two zulus on the left.

Getting back in the zinn of things
Its been a while since I was active on this blog, spending most of the time and effort on ronde-bosse figures.
I took out a box marked miscellaneous and came across these three items.

Putting all the dioramas together
Recently, I have purchased a track and plug system which gives some flexibility in placing the plugs anywhere along the electrical track. This is a neat solution to an otherwise various extension cords solution. The track system is fitted horizontally and hidden behind the sofa. All the wires drop vertically.
I will be installing more of these track and plug systems on other walls. I want the flexibility to move my lighted dioramas around the house. I expect to do more of these dioramas to create thematic displays.
